George F. Brooks III has been a firm believer in being involved in his community as well as the professional organizations he belongs to.

George has served as Chairman of the New Hampshire Real Estate Appraiser Board for 28 months through July, 2007.  He was a board member through November of 2008.

As President of the Greater Manchester Board of REALTORS in 1985, Mr. Brooks and the Board undertook the Computerization of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). This was done in conjunction with the Nashua, Salem, Concord and Portsmouth Boards of REALTORS. The actions of these Boards ultimately led to the current statewide MLS offered by the Northern New England Real Estate Network (NNEREN).

Mr. Brooks also believes strongly in continuing education. Starting with the attainment of the GRI designation in 1982. This designation highlights the importance of being a REALTOR, as well as training in Residential sales techniques. It consisted of 120 hours of classroom and testing.

The CCIM designation was attained in 1993. The CCIM designation denotes a Commercial/Industrial real estate professional that understands Investment Real Estate. It requires 200 hours of education and testing. This designation has been likened to a “Masters Degree in Real Estate”. It is earned by a combination of class work, testing and verification of numerous Commercial, Industrial and Multi Family transactions.

The New Hampshire Certified General Appraisers license was attained after 180 hours of concentrated appraisal classroom and testing as well as passing the final state required test. This license also required over 2,000 hours of appraisal experience with 50% requirement for discounted cash flows.
